This poem came to me in the middle of the night, while I was listening to Branches. It also bears resemblance to a beloved John Donne poem:

“To our bodies we turn then…/Love’s mysteries in souls do grow/But yet the body is his book./And if some lover, such as we/Have heard this dialogue of one/Let him mark us; he shall see small change when we are to bodies gone.”

We’ve come so far

Dust rising behind our

calloused feet

The sun rising ahead

And though at the end

of our journey we melt

into the ground,

We will have lived

something beautiful

And when our feet are

below where we used to walk

and our eyes dry hollows

We will be made Light

Something closer to what

shown in our eyes

what was in us all along.

  1. Hi there! This is kind of off topic but I need
some help from an established blog. Is it very hard to
set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about creating my own
but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Cheers

    1. Hey Kaylene! I’m so sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner!! I’ve had a bunch of personal things come up and have made my life for the last few weeks way crazy!

I’d love to help!! It’s not hard and it’s free depending on what you want to do! I would say set up a WordPress blog— Google search for the WordPress website and it will lead you through a step by step process of setting up your blog. Setting up the blog is easy and really as far as appearance (such as dealing with widgets) can be figured out by trial and error. Also, the more polished a blog looks, the more traffic you’ll probably get.

Another suggestion I have to increase traffic on your blog is to tweet or post about it on your other social networking pages and tweet/post about it a few times each time you have created your blog and when you have a new post. You can also link your WordPress Blog with your social media so every time you publish a new blog post, a new post or tweet will appear with a link to the blog post.

I hope this helps! Please do not hesitate to ask more questions! I will try to be more timely! : )

What kind of blog do you want to set up? What are you writing about?
